Say NO to marijuana legalization.

There are seven candidates vying for a seat on the Turlock City Council. Pat Noda is one of those candidates. Recently he rode up on his blicycle to my front door and asked for our vote. I’m going to give Mr. Noda some credit. He’s doing his own thing, his own way. Although he wouldn’t be my first or second choice for city council, he doesn’t appear to be hiding behind one of the outgoing council members, like another candidate who is running for office.

I’ve received numerous calls from residents concerned that DJ Fransen is in the pocket of one of the outgoing council members. I’ve known DJ for a number of years. We worked on several city projects together. He’s an interesting character in that I have watched him position himself on both sides of the political spectrum. This historically liberal candidate appears to have pulled off an illusion even The Great Houdini would be proud of. He has not only aligned himself with Conservative tyrant Ted Howze, he’s also been able to garner the support of other top Conservative politicos in the area such as Steve Backus and Phil Rheinschild.

According to DJ, Steve Backus co owner of “Two guys on Broadway” paid his candidate filing fees in what some are describing as a hurried back room deal and he has also garnered the support of other Conservative politico’s including the co owner of the Turlock Poker Room-Phil Rheinschild. What are these guys thinking? Don’t they understand Turlock doesn't want an extension of Ted Howze on the council? Have they been living in a cave?

In my experience Ted Howze not only lies when it benefits him, he throws allies under the bus. Have Conservatives become so desperate to maintain their 3-2 vote that they have been reduced to giving Howze the power to pull the strings of a potential council member?

According to insiders Howze has taken a “special” interest in DJ. In return according to my sources, DJ has agreed to continue Ted’s vindictive, spiteful agenda of targeting Mayor John Lazar, The Chamber of Commerce and Turlock’s Convention and Visitors Bureau.
