The College Area Neighborhood Alliance, known as CANA is a hands on group of like minded property owners and individuals who have come together for the betterment of their respective neighborhood. Several neighborhood Watch groups have been established as a result and an Infrastructure and Alley Committee that is credited with the resurfacing of Stoddard and Griswold. A Parks Committee, and more. CANA represents the area around MJC,  including Needham, College, Tully, Orangeburg, and McHenry, in Modesto.
